The Untaught

When you take your first breath, when you announce your arrival to this world you’ll begin with the first stage of the known but never understood cycle often called life.

It’ll all begin so heavenly, you’ll get all the attention and all the love. Then they start to teach you how to speak, how to walk, how to eat…They’ll teach you the alphabet, they’ll teach you the shapes, they’ll teach you almost everything you need to know to survive. A primary thing no parent ever teaches about is you. A creature so complicated and hardly understood; a creature so interesting. You’ll spend almost a hundred years with yourself, and still you won’t be able to define your true identity, your true self, your straight opinion and view upon life. For with every second you grow, your mind reaches new levels and you scramble upon new opportunities that will change the course of your life thus your perception of it.
And just before taking a final breath, you try to sum up everything you learned from life and about it. During that one clear moment you might realize you have decoded life’s essence, but the chances are that you’ll leave as ignorant as you were when you first arrived.
